Burruchaga converts opportunity into control

Roman Andres Burruchaga did more than benefit from an opponent's errors against top seed Flavio Cobolli. He protected his own first serve, converted four of seven break opportunities and kept the match moving on terms that prevented Cobolli from rebuilding confidence.

The 6-2, 6-4 result gave the 24-year-old his first Top 10 victory. All 13 of his tour-level wins have come on clay, a record that shows both a clear strength and the next challenge in broadening his results across surfaces.

Borges rediscovers a productive rhythm

Nuno Borges returned to a place with positive history and beat Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 6-2 in Bastad. The Portuguese player won his only ATP Tour title at the same event in 2024 and again looked comfortable building points from the baseline.

His pressure on Dimitrov's second serve was especially important. Rather than forcing a quick finish, Borges used depth and court position to create repeatable advantages, making the match feel less volatile as it progressed.
