A long match ended with a short final set
Buse took the first set 7-5 before Kopriva forced a decider by winning the second-set tie-break. Instead of carrying that missed opportunity forward, Buse opened the third set with renewed pressure and closed it 6-1.
ATP reported that he generated 17 break points across the match, evidence that his return game kept creating chances even when conversion was uneven.
Altitude changes the clay equation
Kitzbuhel's altitude can speed the ball through conditions normally associated with longer clay-court rallies. Players need topspin and patience without allowing the court to take away time.
Buse's record on clay gives him a base for that problem, but the opening match showed he still needed endurance and emotional separation between sets.
