The geography creates different local conditions, but every team faces the same competitive demand: four matches in five days. Coaches must decide when to protect a starter and when the table no longer allows caution.
Depth becomes a tactical resource
The final week contains 36 matches, with three games on Wednesday and Sunday in each host schedule and two games on the other days. That density makes serving consistency and first-ball control especially valuable because long, chaotic matches increase the recovery burden.
Substitutions will also carry more weight. A reserve setter who preserves tempo or a serving specialist who changes one rotation can influence not only a match, but the physical condition of the squad for the next day.
Qualification pressure changes late-match choices
Only seven teams will join hosts China in the Finals in Ningbo. As the table tightens, set ratio and point ratio can affect the value of every late rally, even when a match result appears decided.
That can produce unusual strategic tension. Teams chasing qualification may need to protect a set margin, while teams outside the race can play with greater freedom. The final standings will reward the squads that manage both the scoreboard and the week.
