NBA Summer League is built for evaluation, so the most useful results are not always the loudest. Day 6 offered big scoring lines, but its stronger signals came from repeatable decisions: ball pressure, shot creation, spacing and effort after mistakes.
Key points
- Brooklyn forced 28 turnovers in a 115-83 win over Sacramento.
- Javon Small scored 26 as Memphis shot 53.1% from three against Golden State.
- Trevon Brazile scored 32 in Denver's 106-103 win over Oklahoma City.
Defence created the clearest team identity
Brooklyn's 115-83 win over Sacramento was shaped by 28 forced turnovers. Egor Demin finished with 22 points, eight assists and four steals, production that connected individual impact to a team-wide pressure plan.
Houston offered another defensive example by holding Philadelphia to 31.1% shooting in a 90-64 win. Summer League lineups change quickly, but effort, communication and the ability to close space are traits coaches can evaluate immediately.
Shot-making needs context
Memphis beat Golden State 106-85 while making 53.1% of its three-point attempts. Javon Small led the way with 26 points, seven assists and five made threes, combining scoring with enough playmaking to keep the offence organised.
Trevon Brazile's 32 points helped Denver hold off Oklahoma City 106-103. A large total earns attention, but teams will also study where the shots came from, how often he created an advantage and whether the same reads work when opponents adjust.
Evaluation continues after the box score
The Lakers closed the day by beating the Clippers 99-85 behind Cameron Carr's 23 points. Chicago also collected its first Las Vegas win, while the daily schedule continued to create short preparation windows for young rosters.
That environment is the point. Teams are looking for players who can process a scouting instruction in the morning and reproduce it at game speed that night. A hot shooting day helps, but dependable habits are what extend a professional opportunity.
